General

The Capital of Burgundy, Dijon is also the mustard capital of the world. Introduced by the Romans, the yellow mustard plants and vinyards are still found throughout this magical region of France. The Dukes of Burgundy, who also enjoyed mustard at their lavish festivals, ruled the region for 5 centuries. Explore the historic center of Dijon, including the Duke’s Palace, Notre Dame Church, Darcy Garden and the charming covered market place. After a break in the lush botanical gardens, we’ll continue our exploration of over 800 years of history in this city full of tragedy, comedy and, of course, fine dining.
