A new museum space depicts in fine detail the history of war, especially World War II, and the Battle of Normandy. Watch video presentations of D-Day, observe scale models of battleships, battlefields and bunkers and learn about the history of this monumental day as it comes alive. Visit the Holocaust tribute, a section on the Cold War, the development of the atomic bomb, the demise of the Berlin Wall and the attacks of September 11, 2001.
You may also visit the brand new 360 degree cinema where you will have an incredible immersive experience through real footage shot during the invasion of Normandy on 9 surrounding screens.
Lastly, visit the American Cemetery at Omaha Beach, the final resting place of 9,387 American servicemen, which overlooks one of the most important landing sites of the Normandy Invasion. Walking along Omaha beach past two German gun emplacements with their deadly 88 mm guns, you will be able to imagine the challenges faced by the allied soldiers as they debarked off their u boats.
